Ragged Slopestyle and Waterville Alpine Races Postponed
31 Jan 2023 by Josh Nicolaisen
Happy Tuesday everyone!
We’re looking forward to another great weekend with you all, but with the extreme temperatures predicted for Saturday we are working with our host resorts to adjust our schedule.
Slopestyle at Ragged Mountain is postponed until Sunday 2/5. Saturday’s temperatures are predicted to be extremely cold, and though we’ve run plenty of cold events before, this event is at capacity and we have the flexibility and mountain support to try and foster a better event environment for our athletes. We have spoken with many of the coaches who are active within our series to vet this decision and we received overwhelming feedback that Sunday would be preferable. The temps are predicted to be approximately 30 degrees higher than those on Saturday. If the new date does not work out for you, please reach out prior to this Thursday at midnight to request a refund. You can reach Josh at jnicolaisen@usasa.org.
What does this mean for our 3 alpine races scheduled for this Sunday at Waterville Valley? Well, they won’t be happening on Sunday, but we’re doing our best to reschedule them. We are working with Waterville to try and find a new date for the trio of races and we will let you know as soon as we come to a decision.
Thank you all for the flexibility and support and we look forward to seeing many of you at Ragged Mountain this SUNDAY.
Be well,
Josh
